Here’s a fun swipe from Boardroom Inc, a publisher famous for their “fascination” copy. Long lists of bullet teasers, ramping up perceived product value and reader curiosity.
At one-time, Boardroom was the Ivy League of direct response marketing. Founded by Marty Edelson, they once hired the likes of Eugene Schwartz, Gary Bencivenga, Jim Rutz and many more household name copywriters.
But with the death of Marty and direct mail, and the departure of marketing whiz Brian Kurtz and his institutional knowhow, the business isn’t the behemoth it once was. At least that’s what it seems, looking from the outside.
So enjoy today’s swipe, because they don’t do it like this anymore! I’m not a housewife, but I love this style of copy…
