Silver hit a record-high last year, soaring 144% to just under $72 per ounce. Gold “only” climbed 65%.
Yet I don’t remember seeing any big promotions for either precious metal, with AI being the low-hanging fruit of Big Ideas in 2025. But now with fears of an AI bubble, and continued and new chaos around the world (is Trump seriously going to start a war with Venezuela AND Iran!?), maybe precious metals will be the dominant Big Idea in the financial publishing industry in the New Year?
Clearly investors have been pouring into precious metals already. They’re considered a “safe haven” investment for troubled times. So why aren’t copywriters all-over them too?
(Silver, by the way, is crucial for electric vehicles and solar panels, so it has great versatility in the idea-sphere!)
The right precious metals promo, at the right time, has massive hit potential, just like today’s swipe was back in 2012.
I had an idea that this promo, or a promo like it, filmed with the guru walking into a bank and getting “free” silver would work well today, assuming you can still do this trick. With the price of silver where it’s at today, maybe the opportunity just doesn’t exist anymore.
